Capitol Ave/Capitol Park Real Estate
The Capitol Avenue/Capitol Park neighborhood straddles the loose borders of midtown and downtown, roughly running from K through R Streets, east of CapitolPark. The entire midtown area is comprised of numerous small neighborhoods, blooming with galleries, coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques nestled amidst craftsman homes, bungalows and Victorians canopied under century-old trees. While still stately and charming, this area is home to a few more intimate apartments and upscale complexes.
The Capitol Park neighborhood offers residents closer proximity to downtown (perfect for professionals wanting to avoid the commute), but retains its unique character of urban energy sans the big city attitude. It’s an incredibly walk-able area and a bike lover’s haven with convenient light rail access to boot. But with so many culinary, cultural, and small-town delights, it’s hard to find a reason to venture far from Capitol Park. The Crocker Museum, the American River Parkway, and the Sacramento Antique Faire are all essentially within walking distance.
Numerous murals and monuments throughout the streets bring something new to every coffee run and evening stroll. The 40-acre Capitol Park, with several gardens, a trout pond and more than 450 species of trees and flowering shrubs is part of every local’s backyard. It’s also home to a Thursday morning farmers market, though several more are held throughout the week in various pockets of the midtown and downtown areas.
